Gifted learners often show signs of advanced moral reasoning, empathy and a strong sense of justice from an early age. These children and young adults benefit from examining the lives of historical figures who displayed positive humanitarian and industrious qualities. Leadership development is often a component of gifted programs in Florida schools and leadership is one trait that is used to help identify students for gifted services. Gifted student have the potential to lead society and/or become leaders in a particular domain if their strength and interests are nurtured and their gifts are recognized and appreciated by others.
